Discipleship and Evangelism Pillar

Discipleship is the training up of followers of Jesus Christ so that they continually grow in his grace and likeness and are equipped to share in his ministry of reconciliation.

Evangelism is the sharing of the Gospel with others.

Vision/Mission of the Discipleship & Evangelism Pillar:
To encourage one another in our faith and gifts and draw others with us into God’s loving embrace by living openly and true to the hope that is in us and to the pledge of our baptismal covenant.
We seek to create a culture that teaches, learns, shares, welcomes, prays, plays, cares, lives and acts as agents of Christ’s grace and hope with each other and all who come seeking and needing to encounter the presence of God. We find that great strength and sacred power arise through binding our lives together in a covenant community (ubuntu), and in this way we are able to work and witness  for the Kingdom of God.

To achieve our greatest potential we are intentional as:
1.    We teach and learn from one other and our children the foundations of the Christian faith as we find them outlined in Holy Scripture and in the historic traditions of the Episcopal Church.
2.    We bind ourselves together in the sorrow, hope, and celebrations of life and rely on the strength and power that arise from life lived in community.
3.    We reach outside and in to touch and tend to those who grieve, are sick, or are homebound.
4.    We seek to share the resulting goodness with all who seek to join with us.
