CENTRO FEEDING PROGRAM
A number of people have wanted to find ways to get involved with the Centro de Todos los Santos feeding program which happens each Tuesday at a parking lot close to our ministry center. We prepare 50 bag lunches on Monday evening, trying to prepare a nutrient-rich, cost effective meal each week. If you would like to help here are some specific things you can do:
1. Shopper: We need people who are willing to go to COSTCO to buy the food we prepare. This shopping happens every other Sunday or Monday. There aren't a lot of different items on the shopping list, and the quanties/ingredients don't change much so the shopping usually takes no more than 1/2 an hour. Once purchased, the food needs to be delivered to the Centro and put up (no more than 15 minutes). Shoppers will check out a key and get detailed instructions.
2. Tuna Fish Salad Prep: Once a month we would like to prepare tunafish sandwiches. We would need people who are willing to prepare a batch of Tunafish salad (mayo and fish only) large enough to prepare 50 sandwiches. In order to be as safe as possible, the salad will need to be prepared on Monday afternoon and brought to the Centro (we prepare the sandwiches for the next day in the evening (7 PM).
3. Egg Boilers: Once a month, we'd like to distribute hard boiled eggs instead of sandwiches and need some help to boil the eggs on Monday, refrigerate them and bring them to the Centro by 7 PM.
If you are interested in helping in any of these ways, email Rosa Lindahl or call her at 954-683- 4574.
HOSPITALITY WEEK: Twice a year, All Saints functions as an overflow emergency shelter for homeless families during a one week period. Typically, two mothers and their children are our guests during the week. They sleep in our facilities and join our parish in fellowship, meals and recreation. Contact: Rosa Lindahl
HURRICANE RELIEF FUND: In a period when we have been advised of heightened hurricane activity in the Atlantic and Caribbean, All Saints has established a relief funding process to provide direct assistance to those most devastated by the impact of these tropical storms. Contact: Lou Strennen
JUBILEE FUND: The Outreach ministry team receives requests for disbursement of funds from one of the Endowment funds earmarked specifically for outreach. Requests are reviewed quarterly and forwarded to the Finance Committee for final approval. Contact: Lou Strennen
T.R.U.E. (Towards Relief of Urgent Emergencies) FUND: The Outreach ministry team supports and oversees the disbursement of funds to cover emergency needs under $100. Contact: Phyllis Barnes
